Pedro Andrés Videla Hermansen

Pedro is a lawyer specializing in technology law, with a focus on artificial intelligence and data protection. He spent over 7 years at Johansson & Langlois working in intellectual and industrial property, and recently returned from completing an LL.M. at Berkeley with a specialization in AI. What interests him the most is not technology itself, but what happens when organizations adopt it without redesigning how they make decisions. That's where the real problems appear: who is accountable when an algorithm decides? How do you govern something the board doesn't fully understand? What does legal compliance mean when the law doesn't yet know what to regulate? Pedro work with companies that are asking those questions, and also discusses them in the classroom — both in AI and Law courses and in spaces where the conversation crosses law, creativity and technology. Before studying law, he studied acting at Universidad Católica. He believes that understanding how people operate within structures always was relevant.
