Sean McWeeney Jr. is an attorney-at-law and notary public based in Nassau, The Bahamas. Called to the Bar of England and Wales and the Bar of The Bahamas in 2018, he is currently an Associate in the Financial Services & Private Client Group at Graham Thompson, where his practice centres on technology and cyber law, with particular emphasis on data protection, privacy, regulatory compliance, digital policy, electronic communications, and e-commerce, alongside private client work in estate planning and probate. Sean has contributed to a number of leading publications in the data protection space, including the Chambers Global Practice Guides, the DLA Piper Data Protection Laws of the World Handbook, In-House Lawyer Magazine and the OneTrust DataGuidance series, and was actively involved in the development of The Bahamas' new data protection legislation. He holds a Master of Laws in IT and Telecommunications Law (with Merit) from the University of Strathclyde and serves as a government-appointed Director on the Board of Cable Bahamas Limited, one of the country's largest telecommunications providers. Sean brings a client-centred approach to helping individuals and organisations navigate the evolving digital regulatory and legal landscape in The Bahamas.
