Nicole Beranek Zanon
Nicole Beranek Zanon is a founding partner of de la cruz beranek Attorneys at Law Ltd, a corporate law firm focused on IT, information and communication law including but not limited to Swiss and European Data protection law, licensing, outsourcing, infrastructure and related service. Nicole worked for many years as in-house counsel for the leading domain name registry for .ch and the National Research and Education Network (NREN). As general counsel in the area of domain names, she supported regulatory issues as well as working in NREN infrastructure, service and all kinds of corporate law.
She advises her clients in the fields of information and communications law, intellectual property law, data protection law and, in particular, IT security and all related matters. As a notary public, Nicole advises her clients in transactions in the fields of information and communication technology and the establishment of start-ups. Within her practice, she has been an active member of different practice groups on technology matters where new legislation on telecommunication and information law are developed. Nicole is an active board member of EuroCloud Swiss and Cloud Security Alliance's Switzerland chapter. Furthermore, she is an active member of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw) and a member of the Swiss Telecommunications Association.
Nicole graduated from the University of Fribourg (with a special degree in European law/ German and French). She is a registered notary public of the Canton of Zug and admitted to the Bar. Furthermore, Nicole holds an Executive MBA degree from the University of St Gallen.
Nicole lectures as a specialist on information technology law and compliance at various universities, such as the University of Applied Science and Arts Northern Switzerland, Zurich University of Applied Science and the Executive School of Management, Technology and Law at the University of St Gallen.
