Cian is a partner in the Commercial & Business team at Hayes solicitors.
He advises on and leads the drafting and negotiating of commercial agreements, including technology and IT agreements such as software, SaaS and master services agreements, and advises on legal and contractual issues arising from digital platforms, online services and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. He also advises on terms and conditions of sale and the legal aspects of marketing and advertising campaigns.
A central focus of his practice is data protection, privacy and technology law. He works with clients on the practical application of GDPR and ePrivacy requirements in a commercial context, including the structuring of data processing and sharing arrangements, governance frameworks and risk management strategies. He also advises on AI governance and regulatory compliance.
Cian also advises extensively on consumer law and the complex regulatory frameworks governing these activities, with a particular focus on digital and online environments, including consumer protection, e-commerce, advertising compliance and issues such as unfair commercial practices and greenwashing.
