Data Protection And Privacy

The Data Protection and Privacy practice of BGBG has been created as a response to the new necessities of the people and companies that must abide by the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPD) and other applicable and current regulations.

The professional practice of our Data Protection and Privacy is composed of specialized lawyers with international training on the matter alongside the experience and prestige of BGBG since its establishment. This includes CIPP/E lawyers to help our international clients to achieve compliance projects in Mexico under the GDPR standards.

Law Degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico); Diploma in Corporate Law from the Universidad Iberoamericana  (Mexico); Master in European Union Law from the Universidad Complutense (Madrid, Spain) and Law Degree from the Universidad de Zaragoza (Spain).

Member of the Editorial Committee of Global Privacy Law Review (Wolters Kluwer International).

He has provided advisory and consulting services on personal data protection to various multinational companies with origin or presence in Mexico and Spain, in sectors such as: energy, banking, brokerage, insurance, tourism, department stores, health services, marketing, education, telecommunications, retail, pharmaceutical, e-commerce, cloud computing, social networks, among others.

He has been Privacy Officer in the Spanish Ministry of Defense and has carried out projects of adaptation and auditing on personal data protection for various Public Administrations in Spain.

Co-author of the "Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares COMENTADA", edited by the Mexican Data Protection Authority (INAI).

CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Profession / Europe) by the IAPP  the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP); member of the Mexican Academy of Digital Law (AMDI), of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM), of the Spanish Professional Privacy Association (APEP) and collaborator of the Ibero-American Data Protection Observatory (OIPRODAT).

 

Co-author winner of the:

-Personal Data Protection Research Award (Accésit- 2014) granted by the Spanish Data Protection Agency, and.

-Data Protection Research Award (2018) granted by the Basque Data Protection Agency.

What is the INPLP?

INPLP is a not-for-profit international network of qualified professionals providing expert counsel on legal and compliance issues relating to data privacy and associated matters. INPLP provides targeted and concise guidance, multi-jurisdictional views and practical information to address the ever-increasing and intensifying field of data protection challenges. INPLP fulfils its mission by sharing know-how, conducting joint research into data processing practices and engaging proactively in international cooperation in both the private and public sectors.
